gaborGrains

Oriented sine grains: short striped patches, each facing a random way, like brushed metal or wood grain.

gaborGrains(slots: {frequency: PropRef}): Field

Import noise from shaders/std and use noise.gaborGrains.

frequency is how many stripes fit in one grain (1 to 24, default 8). The stripes slide along their grain on the layer's clock. Signed, −1 to 1: wrap it in unitized before a tone word. Takes a 2D position, so frame it with seededPlane.

Example

paint: rampOver(noiseTone(seededPlane(unitized(gaborGrains({frequency: p('frequency')})), {scale: p('scale'), seed: p('seed')}), {contrast: p('contrast'), balance: p('balance')}), stops(p('colorSpace')))
